Update to Generator Use at Long Meadow Campsite | New Rules for 2026 & 2027

From 26 March 2026, generator use will be limited to selected sites for two hours daily, and we will be generator-free by April 2027. This helps us support our sustainability goals and preserving tranquillity for campers and wildlife.

We’re pleased to share an update that comes directly from the valuable feedback we received from campers throughout this season. After carefully reviewing our generator policy and considering how we can best balance convenience, tranquillity and environmental responsibility, we’ve made a few important changes.

What’s Changing in 2026?

From 26 March 2026, fuel-driven generators will only be permitted at Long Meadow during a designated window of 11am to 1pm.

Looking Ahead to 2027

As part of our sustainability goals, we plan to move away from fuel-driven generator use entirely. From April 2027, Long Meadow Campsite will become fuel-driven generator-free. This is a significant step towards creating a quieter, cleaner and more wildlife-friendly space for everyone to enjoy.
